Mario Caspar was born in Germany and raised up in Switzerland. At the age of 16 he decided to become a professional drummer. He was learning his basic rudiments from Dave Grob and subsequently took lessons at the Leonardo Drum-School in Uster (Switzerland).During that time he went through his first European music scene experiences and eventually performed in 1984 with the group Fun-Key at the famous Jazz Festival in Montreux. In 1986 Mario received a scholarship to study music in the USA in order to extend his knowledge. He first visited the "Percussion Institute of Technology " and afterwards the "Grove School of Music" in Los Angeles.Mario finally returned in 1992 to Switzerland and began to share his experience with the younger generation. During a session he was introduced to the multi talented Producer and keyboarder Andreas Mueller and they became musically and personally friends within a short time. So the Project "NBA (Not By Accident) " was born and with that a dream came true. Andreas' music was exactly the sound Mario was looking for and both were fitting together like a hand in a glove.
In the following years he worked as a studio drummer with all different kinds of musicians and producers and played on various CD's, together with international known musicians such as:
Abe Laboriel, Justo Almario, Vinnie Colaiuta, Steve Lukather, Gary Willis, Steve Tavaglioni, Norbert Stachel, James Brown Horns, Jiffry Hussain, John Goodsall, Louis Johnson, Lothar Kosse, Klaus Bittner, Roger Cicero, Marc Ebermann, Heinz Affolter, Manuel Grüter, Luis Conte, Tom Lane, Matthias Heimlicher, Ralf Gustke, Leon Duncan, Katisse Buckingham…
